A little about me.
Ice fishing for me like many is just one more season in the world of fishing. Ice fishing is my favorite method of fishing with fly fishing trout coming in at a close second. The winter months allow the ability to pursue several species of fish while using some of my favorite toys.
Growing up ice fishing was going out with my dad and other family members and soaking tip-ups in the water. I never really got bit by the bug until I purchased two critical pieces of equipment, the Vexilar and the portable ice shanty. Today ice fishing for me is about being mobile.
My home water is Lake George, N.Y. This lake provides opportunities for my two favorite species of fish through the ice, Yellow perch and Lake Trout. A typical outing for me will be chasing big Lake Trout for ½ to ¾ of the day and wrapping up the day filing a bucket with big jumbo perch. My outings are not limited to these species as I like to target bluegill, crappie, walleye, trout, Northern Pike and Salmon. Most ice fisherman that are soaking tip-ups are looking to catch whatever will bite. I on the other hand am always targeting a species. It becomes a mission for me to catch that fish, and over the years these mission’s have been opportunities for me to learn new tips and tricks.

Nathan and I have been friends for a few years and in this time I began working with Nathan to promote the industry. This is something that I have a great interest in, it just fits that I am able to help through my love of photography. Nathan and myself are on the same page when it comes to teaching. I want everyone to be catching fish if I am so sharing info is something I love to do.
